Becoming Catholic

The Catholic faith: the most demanding to live in; the best to die in.

“You have made us for Yourself, O God, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.” (Saint Augustine, Confessions) God loves us first; it is up to us to respond to this love. LOVE Himself comes to us in Jesus Christ. Catechumens are persons who have never been baptized and want to learn more about the Person of Jesus Christ. Candidates are those who are baptized Christians and who desire to learn more about the Catholic Church and the life, graces, privileges and responsibilities of a Catholic. If you are interesting in learning more about Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith, please call Fr. Loftus at 217-431-5100, or email him at fatherloftus@gmail.com. The study text is the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults.
