Cemetery

Resurrection Cemetery is the Catholic cemetery in Danville. It is jointly supported by the parishes of Holy Family and Saint Paul. For burial space purchases, please contact the superintendent, Mike O'Kane, at resurrectioncemetery@holyfamilydanville.net.

Decoration Rules: March 1 to October 1

Natural or artificial flower arrangement - one per grave. Cut flowers are discouraged. Temporary pin vases and temporary ground decorations to be removed one week after holidays (Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day).

Holders:

  • In ground vases which can be inverted and locked below ground.

  • Temporary pots, planters, pin vases not to exceed 12” in diameter.

  • Hanging basket books (Shepherd’s Hooks) are temporary and must be removed with summer decorations.

  • All urns must have a concrete pad. Cemetery will install these for a small fee.

  • Urns must be emptied and inverted during winter months.

  • No planting of trees or bushes without the permission of the cemetery.

Decoration Rules: November 1 to March 1

Winter wreaths, saddles, and grave blankets permitted but need to be secured so they will not blow about the cemetery.

No hanging baskets or Shepherd’s Hooks.

General:

  • No edging of markers or monuments with decoration rock or other materials.

  • Jars, cans, bottles, glass vases, statuary, ornaments, paper mache, vigil lights, solar lanterns, crosses of any type or similar items are not permitted.

  • Flags and Veterans emblems may be placed on graves 3 days prior to Memorial Day, and removed the following week.

  • When decorations become unsightly, they will be removed by cemetery staff.
